# Nine of Swords

Vikalpa (विकल्प)

Mental Modification, Worry

Nine of Swords. You're suffering not from reality but from thoughts about reality. He wakes in anguish, nine swords above—but they're mental projections. Negative imagination creates unbearable suffering; the ego tortures itself with catastrophic fantasies. The quilted roses suggest comfort available if you detach from the thought-storm. Wake up. The swords are mental.
