Colophon
The Physical Editions
A colophon is the note at the back of a book that says how the book was made. This is ours — set down here because the printed editions of The 4th Tarot were made deliberately, one decision at a time, and the decisions are worth reading.
How the editions were made
Every card image was made in the Klimt Golden Period register — gold leaf tones, dark ground, pattern used as structure rather than ornament. The seventy-eight images were composed one at a time and revised against each other, so that the deck reads as a single body rather than a collection. The written volumes were set to be read rather than skimmed: theory and spreads in one, a reference page for each card in the other.
Nothing here was mass-produced in advance. Each edition is made when it is ordered, and the print quality is chosen rather than inherited.
The editions
The books
Two volumes — one on theory and spreads, one a complete reference guide — each in paperback and hardcover. Printed to order, no warehouse, no remainders. The hardcovers are bound in navy linen with gold foil.
Priced in the region of $45 to $95, depending on volume and binding.
The deck
Seventy-eight cards on premium stock with an elegant finish, printed to order. The deck is the only edition that carries something back into the app: buying it unlocks Voice Input on your account and grants 100 voice credits. The books grant nothing in the app — they are books.
Priced in the region of $155.
Every physical order is reviewed and authorised by Bob before it goes to print.
