Who Drives the Carriage? Temperance and the Inner Archetype

    About This Reading

Discover how the Temperance card reconciles rogue Jungian archetypes through Fourth Way self-remembering and the alchemical middle path of self-inquiry.

You hear a voice come out of you that isn't quite yours. The cold king. The frightened orphan. The trickster with the quick reply. Afterward you wonder, who was that?

Jung called these autonomous complexes. The Fourth Way says we have no single I at all, only many small I's, each taking the wheel in turn. They drive when presence sleeps.

Look at her. Eyes closed, she pours from one cup into the other, and nothing is spilled. She isn't fighting what flows. She is the vessel, and the pouring.

An archetype is not an intruder. It is an old river that runs through every one of us. It only floods when no one is holding the cup.

So the question isn't how to silence the voice. It's whether you can notice it, mid-pour, and stay.
